Another highlight of our Christmas vacation was our trip to Pateros. Dan’s brother and his wife own a jetski/boat/snowmobile/etc. rental shop over there. We were able to go over for the weekend and play! We had so much fun. Our only complaint was that it wasn’t long enough! Dan went out snowmobiling with his dad and brother on Friday, while the girls played in the snow with the kids and drank hot chocolate. Even Broden got his first taste of the snow (literally!) Later that day, Dan and Brent came to get Jacey and I. They both took turns taking Jacey for short rides, and she loved it! I thought she would be a little scared, but she wasn’t at all. Then Brent took us to the fire department where he’s a volunteer firefighter. Jacey loved sitting on the fire truck and wearing Uncle Brent’s helmet. Playing with Lily was another highlight of the trip for her. Dan and I laughed at how much Lily reminds us of Jacey when she was 2. It was hard to leave, especially since a snowstorm that threatened the passes forced us to leave right before Dan and Brent were going to take me snowmobiling Saturday morning! We can’t wait to live closer so we can visit them more often!
