We are grateful...

We are grateful for many things this Thanksgiving. But this year, we are mostly grateful for the birth of a beautiful, healthy little girl on Thanksgiving Day! Sadie Brie Sillito was born on November 26th (5 days late:) at 12:12 a.m. She weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and is 21 inches long.

Other things we are grateful for regarding her birth:
1. That for the first time, I have had a completely normal pregnancy with absolutely no complications. My other pregnancies weren't bad or too hard, but they both ended with the option of either bedrest or induction a little bit early.
2. (Along the same line) She came on her own, and I didn't have to be induced. For me, anyway, it was a night and day difference.
3. An easy labor! I reluctantly went to the hospital pretty sure they were going to send me home, and ended up being admitted dilated to 8 cm. Three hours later, we had a baby. The only reason it took that long is because our little gymnast did a funny flip last minute and we had to try some other things to get her back in the right position. Still, much better than the 17 hours we experienced last time!
4. Family being close. Enough said.
5. The quiet moments in the hospital with just me, Dan, and our little baby. Priceless.
6. Great older siblings with so far no inkling of jealousy. It is only day one of being home, but I'm hopeful...
7. Our knowledge of the Pre-existence and knowing where Sadie lived SO recently before she was born. Having her here is like having a little piece of heaven in our home, and even our kids recognize it.
Jacey is thrilled to be a big sister again. Thrilled enough that she was willing to wear a mask to hide her big smile to follow hospital guidelines to prevent spread of H1N1. She is so excited about everything, and I can tell she really is going to be such a help this time around.
Broden, on the other hand could not be talked into wearing a mask regardless of the reason. His introduction had to be delayed until we came home today. But don't worry, he is no less excited than Jacey. He wants to hold her all the time and loves her to pieces. Anytime she makes a noise he wants me to come make sure she's not crying.

Welcome home Sadie! We love you!

I am so glad I got to meet her, even if it was only for a few minutes. I felt too how fresh she was from our Heavenly Father and what a miracle she is. I don't know how it works but I love her already and I am so excited to be her auntie! Congrats to your entire family... it was so good to see you all and I am so glad little Sadie is here!

YAY!! Glad all went well!!! We are REALLY so happy for you guys! She's SOO cute and of course your other kiddies are too. Oh so fun--I want to come snuggle her. :) Congrats!
BTW--just a side note. Kenzie has been asking about Jacey a lot lately. Kind of random--but she keeps asking "when do I get see her again?" And when she plays 'make believe' her name is often Jacey. Kind of cute--thought I would share. We ALL think of you guys often and miss you!
